Default DG exhaust year?

My buddy has a dg exhaust he picked up in some a bulk trade deal of Kawasaki parts. He wants to sell it to me for 50 bucks with the DJ jet kit that was taped to the box. Looking online all the dg exhaust I see say 09+. Is there a difference?

When jetted correctly, the DG silencer will make a superior TRQ curve below 6500 compared to a high dollar full system - like my Megabomb+PowerCore 4.. But know that the DG silencers will not properly fit an aftermarket (larger than stock O.D.) header.

May also melt your air box if not for the proper year range, 2006/2007 vs 2009 +. FMF has different part numbers for the two models.

Anyone know an answer? I suppose I'll contact dg tomorrow and see what they say

So far I've learned it has better power under 6500 rpm than fmf and fmf has two different part numbers.

the jet kit new is almost $100 I think from dynojet
its worth the entire purchase just for it, as long as it has the correct amount of jets and the new needle

now I dont remember if the different years used different needle, so make sure to look into that too

Jet kit is 54.99.

He said the kits a 2152 dynojet. So I told him I'd take the jet kit and pass on the pipe. 25 bucks for the jet kit.

I'll eventually find a pipe. Modifying this thing isn't high on my list as I feel it's probably not worth it.

That jet kit and slip-on would take you up to as much as 22hp - from a stock 16-18hp (depending on who/what you believe.) so only a 22% up to about a 38% increase..

That's not bad.

I guess I base on my past experiences that exhausts usually just make your ride super loud and the increase isn't worth it. I haven't put an exhaust on anything for years.

Yep, call DynoJet, get a $2.00 DJ140 main jet on its' way to you, put on the DG-R, Pull off the airbox lid, install the 2152 kit as per instructions for stage 2 but with the needle clip on the second-from-top notch and the 140 main, fire it up and Hang on tight !

P.S. THis is for at or near sea level.
