Cam chain tensioners

If you like to get low mileage out of your OEM cam chain from excessive wear, then don't worry about it. Otherwise...

I just put the Krieger tensioner on and it's wonderful without the noise! I was worries about long term where. If I can hear a rattle it means metal on metal and that can't be good in the long run.
Just my opinion. I really just hated the rattle.

Yes!
There may be another out there, but I'm not aware of it. Mark Kreiger provides great support.

I plan to get one of the Kreiger -
My understanding is that the stock tensioner does not stay taught as it is supposed to - do they ever fail out right or is there any information on if cam chains have let go because of this problem ?
Just wondering if I should park the bike before getting the new tensioner.
I also tried the fix on the stock one (the option with the ram rod) but I was not successful - maybe I did not use enough force.

put 15,000+ miles on the stock oem cam chain tensioner with no problems or any wear...not sure how common of a problem it really is...
