Default Aftermarket seats compared

Anyone had an opportunity to check out the Sargent, Seat Concepts, and Corbin replacement seats for the KLX? How do they compare? Pros and Cons for each? I don't think I need a new seat for most of my riding but the occasional 200+ mile days are another story. I've seen the DIY sheepskin, Airhawk, etc. and am looking at those but would spend the extra $ if it is really well spent.

I have Seat Concepts and it was like going from a 2X4 to an easy chair in comfort. I do most of my off road riding standing on the pegs and the wider width doesn't bother me when I'm up on the pegs. I don't have any seat time with Sargent or Corbin but they've both been around for a long time and make good stuff.

+1 for Seat Concepts. One of the best mods I've ever bought for my bike. There are lots of threads on the different seats, just search around.

+2 on the Seat Concepts - sorry I have no comparison to offer.

When ordering, based on my age and weight, the recommended on step softer on the foam density and it is wonderful! As stated about, when up on the pegs, the seat is no wider where you stand.

God Bless,
TC

I have the sargent seat. I was going to get a corbin but my credit card got hacked and I ended up ordering a sargent. I will go along with the 2x4 is equivelant to the OEM seat. The sargent is a couple inches wider measuring the mostly flat of the OEM. Sargent is thinner and almost dished. It easily doubles my riding time and at 73 YO I am full of arthritis so I figure it was well worth the money. You can feel your *** bones settle in and the pressure is even where the old one was just like a 2x4 on edge. I doubt if many people can compare the different after market seats cause once you get one that is so much better than the kaw 2x4 your done looking around. You would have to find a event where there were many people there with the klx and be able to sit on all of them to find what your looking for.

The point was trying to find someone who had actually had their butt on several different seats and could provide some contrast info.

I think Jct842 said it best whatever you get will be so much more comfortable than the OEM that it will seem the best seat made. For me it was all down to finances. Corbin and Sargent both make really good seats both well out of my price range. Seat Concepts was the more reasonable priced option for me. It is also a DIY option as it's a replacement foam and cover. Takes a little doing but not impossible.

That sounds interesting... uses 2 liter bottles for support. Yeah, report your findings on that one please. :-)
