Acerbis Tank Braces

Acerbis Tank Braces
Does anyone have a spare set of the braces that go on the bottom of the 4.5 gal acerbis tank? They're the braces that go on the very bottom of the outer "wings" and bolt to the side of the frame around the radiator.
The tank is originally made to fit the KLX250/300 (I edited this since I made a mistake in claiming that the tank was originally designed for the 650...), but as most of you probably know, they also fit the 250s. I bought the tank used, so it didn't come with the braces. I checked acerbis' site and emailed them about purchasing a replacement set, but they don't sell them separately... Anyway, I know some of you guys could probably whip up a suitable replacement in no time flat, but I don't have the resources available for that. That's why I would be really grateful if someone has a set sitting around that they're not using and are also willing to part with. If you have some, message me and we can talk about price. Thanks in advance for any help!!

That's the first time I've read that the 650 tanks will fit on the 250. Just looking at pics online it's hard to believe that it will fit properly.
The braces are just 1" wide strips of aluminum that could be easily fabbed up if you can use a hacksaw and a drill. Good luck with your project.

I think the tank that fits our 250 was for the klx300R, not the 650.
They don't fit well stock, you have to bend them, so might as well start from a flatbar!

Interesting...I hadn't heard about the KLX650 tank fitting either. The 3.7 gallon Acerbis tank for the KLX250/300 seems to have more than enough fuel for most any application. Throwing nearly another gallon of fuel up high on the KLX wouldn't be so great for handling IMO. I've done extremely long fuel mileage intervals on my KLX with the 3.7 tank out in Utah and other remote places, and that tank has served me well for needed fuel capacity.

Scott, I saw one of those tanks, and it had a big red warning label affixed to it..."IF USED ON A KLX250, A 351cc BIG BORE KIT IS REQUIRED FOR THE PURPOSES OF FORWARD PROPULSION!"

My 650 didn't have the braces either. They are very easy to make with hand tools.
I'll try and fit my tank this week when I'm working on the 250.
I gave it a half hearted attempt once. It was definitely not a drop in fit. I think it's to deep and will hit the carb, if it's not too wide to drop in the frame.
It would make the 250 look like a super tanker.
Imagine how handy it would be on my trip to SC though....only 4 stops for gas, there and back. lol

I apologize for the mix-up guys... You're all correct in saying that the tank for the 650 doesn't fit (or at least easily fit). I actually have the tank that's designed for the 250/300. I edited my original post to reflect this, so hopefully this will help with further confusion. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me!!
With looking at the link that doum posted, I feel better about making my own. I thought they had other bends/kinks that were needed to line everything up. Looks like I'll have to take a shot at making some.
Again, sorry for the false claim. I knew the tank wasn't designed for the '07 250s, but I guess I got carried away with thinking it wasn't for any 250's. My mistake
