A report from the field
I have one of Bake's 1.1 gallon tanks and can vouch for the durability of his products. It survived the 2009 Los Angeles to Barstow to Las Vegas dual sport ride, and also a three day solo trip along the old Mojave Road. I was so thorough that I even crash tested the tank a few times... which had nothing to with my riding of course. ;-) I only managed to make a small scratch in the tank.

Sold through Baker DistanceTanks, the aluminum 1.1 gallon auxiliary tank for the 2009 versions is now ready. The full kit includes the replacement coolant bottle, line, petcock, cap, filter, hardware and instructions.
The price for the 1.1 is $275.00

Our tanks are constructed of aircraft grade aluminum 5051 alloy in .063" thickness. This is the same material used in Cessna single engine aircraft. All welding is by certified aircraft welders. It doesn't get any better than my guys.

Nope. I found mine on page 12 of the "Parts" section on ADV.
It was kind of beat up (cracked mount) but I used it for over a year of hard off-roading, until I broke another mount and finished cracking the original broken mount.
It's off now, until I get it welded.
It does give a nice range with the stock tank.
It does need a different vented cap with a hose routed away from the exhaust...if tipped over on the right side, fuel can drip onto the exhaust.
And a rear rack, like the TCI rack can make it a pain to get to the filler neck easily.
Hope you find one...might be easier to get the IMS 3 gallon tank if you want an extra gallon. Or the Acerbis if you want even more fuel.

IMS said NO warranty and they offer no repair service. Hell they didn't even offer me a tank at a reduced price or cost.
I was told in a polite way that I am S.O.L.
