Default 2 gal tank range?

This is a 12 model with the carb. How many miles do you normally go before refilling? What is your mpg? I'm enjoying the hell out of this bike, what a thrill it is to ride. A bigger tank is in my future but not this year, I've already spent enough since paying cash for the bike. The 2 gal tank is it's only drawback. I just figured out how to use the trip odometer yesterday and am going to rely on that for my gas gage.......I think I'm going to slap a 1gal gas can on my rear rack just for insurance, it's easy to go 60/75 miles in just an hour or so and not even think of the fuel level.

Be careful adding a gas can to the rack! IDK about the 2012 model year but it seems adding any real weight causes stress cracks on the rear subframe. It has been posted about on the forums here.

I don't think this problem is wide spread

Default reserve tank on rear

Actually, I believe the '09 - current subframe is somewhat heavier than the '06-'07 model and should easily carry a one-gallon container of gasoline. It shouldn't weigh more than 8 - 10 pounds.

The bike's designed to carry two up, and the rear part of the seat is supported by the subframe in this case, so again it should carry a gallon of gas easily.

stock everything on mine EXCEPT for the Dynojet kit.

Dynojet kit installed by a local motorcycle shop per dynojet instructions with stock exhaust and everything.

I get 93-97 miles. on the fuel pump that's between 1.3-1.475 gallons.

under a gallon and a half. with .5 left in the reserve tank.

I have run tank empty, but had enough in the reserve to get to gas station thankfully.

you can get a fuel pack, or a PMR rack that will hold a gas can,

there are also a few different options on carrying extra gas, there is a 'liter' gas can that looks like a coffee mug to hold auxiliary fuel.

haven't explored these options, though. I just use the trip meter for fill ups.

Thans all for your input. I love this bike, what a beauty! I don't like to push the limits on the fuel range, as you know stalling out in an intersection can be deadly. Reserve can't help you then. I think 80 is the magic number, if you think other wise let me know.......remember this is the carbed version, EFI I think wouldn't be comparable.

I'm Canadian so I use metric miles.

Got the efi bike totally stock. Fuel lamp usually comes on after 185 - 205 Km. Then I can go at least another 40 Km
