Default TECATE4 STUPED Q

i am new to the whole 2 stroke thing. i just rebuilt my first 2 stroke top end and i need to change the oil. i took a screw out of the bottom of the case and drained the sludge out. i am guessing that the oil i drained serviced the motor and the tranny?

what do i need to fill it back up with and how much??

everybody i ask doesnt even know what a tecate 4 is.

thanks for the noob help

Here are a couple of sites that might be able to help. You're right I never heard of them, but it looks like stuff is still out there. Oh I didn't realize it was a Kawasaki, sorry, let us know if those links help

you need to use something like bel ray gear saver, thats the good stuff, not sure on the capacity of your motor but heres the info you request...

the motor gets it lubrication from the oil you mix in with the gas (premix) thefluid you drained is the tranny oil. id assume you do not have an injection pump on your bike so you mix the oil in with the gas, if you dont, then somewhere theres a oil box that mixes the oil into the gas via an injection pump.

also would like to know what you have and if you have any more 2 stroke questions feel free to contact me as thats all i ride off road. 4 strokes in the dirt are for weenies

the gear saver will cover the lower end. i dont know about the capacity, maybe www.bikebandit.com will have something that has the capacity of the oil.

nevermind, it doesnt have the oil capacity. try calling a kawasaki dealer. or just put close to 2 ouarts in it and check the level. it has a sight glass on it right ?

The window on the side of the clutch cover will indicate the amount of oil in the lower engine. Fill it to 3/4 full and that will be sufficient. Use bel ray 75w gear saver or any 20w/50 motor oil used in automotive industry. That's what came in it from Kawasaki when new. Bel Ray one step better.
