Default Bayou wont stay running

I have a 2004 Bayou 250 and it wont stay running after i start it until it has been running it for at least 30 min and sometimes it still cuts off. I have tried adjusting the idle even when it is idling fast it will still shut off. I bought it used and the orginal owner told me that he had only ran 4-tanks through it and was selling it cause his son wanted a large model. I had a 1985 Honda 125trx for 8 years and only thing i ever had to do to it was change the oil and replace the spark plug twice. DID I BUY THE WRONG BRAND? I have already put two new spark plugs in this and only had it since July 05. They guy that bought it new got in March 05 as a left over model. So its just now a little over a year old and i have only ran about 4 tanks through it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, welcome aboard!!

It sounds like that thing probably sat for a while with only four tanks run thru it and 2 years old. probably a fuel problem. I would have to guess she's probably gummed up. Make sure you drain out all the old fuel, and put fresh gas in. Also, I would try some berryman fuel system cleaner. If that doesn't work, might have to tear into her.. you said you had to change plugs two plugs. Why? Are they fuel fowled?? When you pulled the old plugs, did they have a lot of black on them?? When it's running, is it running rich?

Yes both the plugs were fowled i should have mentioned that. I will try adding the system cleaner cause i have ran the tank dry and refilled it so i know it isnt bad gas. I run 93 octane like it recommends if the other owner only ran 87 could this have done anything? I dont knnw if he did or didnt but i always will use the fuel the factory recommends or better.

Thanks again.
