2004 KVF 360 Drive Pulley Problems
Well Hello guys n' gals! Im new to this forum and any help would be reatly appreciated. I recently purchased a 2004 360 Prairie in need of a little TLC. te previous owner said that the quad ran fine until the belt broke. It has been sitting up for approx 6 months. so I bought a new belt and put it on no problem. the problem is that when you give the ATV any throttle its very sluggish. I took the CVT cover back off to verify that the drive and driven pulleys were operatig properly. With the belt on the outersheave on the drive pulley only goes in enough to grab the belt, then stops. With the belt off the pulley goes all the way in and back out. I dont think the pulley has been disassembled but there is a little rust on the shaft of the inner sheave that the outter sheave rides on. Is there anything that can be done besides buying another complete drive pulley assembly? I pulled the outermost plate of the drive pulley off and shot some liquid wrenck on the shaft that the outer sheave rides on and moved it in and out manualy but when I reassembled it and started her up it did that same thing as before. All the flyweights, etc. seem to be in place. Also, does anyone know how to get the drive pulley off? Im assuming there is some kind of special tool.

Ok, as per Hoedogg's suggestions I cleaned the carbs which didn't look bad at all. the jets and passages were clean and there was no old fuel varnish. Anyway, I cleaned everything with B-12 and blew it all out and put it back on. I also changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter just for good measure. I'm still having the same problem. The engine itself runs fine. The outer sheave on the drive pulley isnt moving in and out with the belt installed like it's supposed to. With the belt removed, it moves in and out, but it's sluggish. Has anybody ever had this occur?
