Kawi Bayou 400 4X4 - Clutch
Hello Everyone!
We have a 1993 Kawasaki Bayou 400 4X4 - well used and has treated us GREAT.
The clutch is slipping now and getting worse to the point where it is time to do something.
Is changing the clutch a do it yourself project? In the Repair Manual ( Clymer ) there is two special tools for pulling the clutch.
The dealer tells me - yes it can be a do it yourself project but he orders the two tools from the factory when he needs them and then sends them back! ( no renting them )
Anyways I am going to drain the oil and remove the side plate and have a look..........
Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance
Sean

Probably the friction plates of your semi-auto clutch are worn out. I think you can do replace them at home if you can somehow hold the primary gear while unscrewing the balancer gear nut and oil pump drive gear nut.
