Default Mule 3010 - ok to run with front axles removed?

Morning,

I have a 2006 mule 3010 trans. It is 4WD but the driveshaft to the front diff have been removed since I bought it so it is effectively 2WD.

I recently replaced the front axle on one side but I am still getting some noise and pulling. My question is, can I remove one or both front axles and run it like that at least temporarily to determine where the problem is, or will that cause problems. I live it Central America so it takes a while for parts to be shipped from the USA so want to be sure I narrow down the culprit before ordered.

A question on front wheel bearings as well. Are those generic and if so does anyone have the specs or part number for something that will work?

Thanks
Allan

The front brake drums are press fit onto the axles and will not run with the axles removed. If you disassembly a couple of CV axles, you can install the wheel end and run it like that.
