I have a 1999 2510 4x4 KAF620-A5. I have a question about the front CV joints. On this model, the front CV joint has a half shaft that slides into the other half of the axle where there is a U joint before it goes into the front gear box. Removing the CV joint with the half shaft is fairly simple as the spline in the middle of the axle just slides apart.


Now my question is - does that half shaft come out of the CV joint? Usually there is a circlip on the shaft and you can pop the CV joint off, but I have beat this thing as hard as I dare without damaging it, but the shaft will just not come out. There is no other visible clip holding the bearings in either. I can not find a separate part listing for just the shaft, so I am thinking it is not designed to come apart. It's not a huge deal, I just wanted to take it all apart to better clean it when replacing the boot.
