I just got a 1993 supersport xi 750. It runs excellent with plenty of power. My concern is how much it smokes. This is my 1st ski and the 1st 2 stroke engine that I've ever owned. It seems to blow alot of white smoke at start up and a little white smoke at idle. I've ran it 5 or 6 times since I got it. It's the same every time with no change in performance. Also I just want to make sure that my fuel consumption is normal. I ran it for about 3.5 hours. Almost non stop and it ran out of gas. I switched it to reserve and got back to the dock with no problem. Is that about right or not. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

 

Shouldnt be smoking noticably but all 2 strokes will smoke a bit. Dunno how big your tank is but 3.5 hours should be ok. Make sure your mixing the fuel right and if the smoking gets any worse you may need to change head gaskets.
