I have a 93 xi 750, It has been sitting under a cover for 6 years....until now!
So this is what I did:
Removed the gas tank and cleaned out old gas.
Replaced spark plugs, replaced fuel check valve.
Replaced starter, battery and checked all electrical connections.
Checked impeller and pump, trim, and hull is in good shape.

The engine will only start if I spray some starter fluid in the intake.
The ski runs great and will cruise on the water great, but at low rpms will die and will only start and run again with another spray of starter fluid.

There is what I think is a choke cable next to the exhaust pipe but the lever is broken is this important.

There is also a choke on the outside left side of the hull, that seems to work, but maybe im doing something wrong???
