Hello,


I just bought both a 93 and a 94 Kawasaki Super Sport Xi jet ski. When running wide open across the lake they both hit the same max speed, and run pretty equal, but when I want to play with them and whip around in circles and whip around in the water, the 93 does not have nearly as much "getup" as the 94 when you are hammering around on the throttle. It doesn't really bog down or anything, it just doesn't push nearly as hard to jump up and go.


I have already replaced the spark plugs in both skis and ran some sea foam through the gas. They are also both running the same Kawasaki brand oil that the manual says to use.


I would greatly appreciate any suggestions as to what could be causing this and how to look into fixing it.

I have been doing some digging in the ski's and I see that the Impellor that is on the 94 is significantly larger than the one that is on the 93. I am thinking that this is why the newer one is able to getup much more aggressively.

 

By larger you meaning what ? They are both 140mm impellers. Some of the Xi's came stock with a 5 blade impeller, and most ss's came with a three blade impeller. Factory pitch was somewhere around 14/18 I believe. Stock replacement for the Xi in Skat is 12/17 and Solas is 14/18. I've heard the Skat launches the ss/xi out of the hole like a rocket. I am running a Solas KE-CD 11/16 on my SS and love it.
