I have a 06 kawasaki stx-15f. first day out ski ran perfect. second day it ran fine then out of nowhere only went to about 5k rpm. took it home hooked up hose revved up to red line no problem. speedo also stopped working once it wouldnt go past 5k rpm. i put it back in water ran fine and then about a hour into riding it wont go over 5k rpm again. yesterday the battery light kept blinking and then the gauges would go to like when you first turn the ski on and then the gauges go compeltly blank but the ski would run fine. took it out this morning ran fine first hour and then i would loose my power. the ski still moved but felt like only half power. came home hooked up hose revvs fine with seat off. with seat on feels like only half power.

i checked the impeller and there was rope on the shaft. i took off the the rope and with seat off it has full power but with seat on half power. i checked all spark plugs those look fine. fresh new gas in it this morning. oil is clean and level is fine. any help is appriciated.

 

I have the same year ski , same problems, runs good no problems , then the speedo goes off and starts running bad . Spark plugs are new ,the oils good everything's good . I've never had any problems I have 2 skis purchased new same day in 06 , the other one has not done it yet , they have about 200 hrs . Has anyone else had this problem ?? Thanks
