Also got to realize that the lifespan of an average sport bike is maybe 5k and at most 10k before they are layed down and scrapped. This one got lucky and hasnt been wrecked so I wouldnt pay attention to the mileage. Just like jap cars, jap bikes can last a long time, usually the owner screws up or is unlucky and gets in a wreck haha.

Hey Mr. P, I have a 2006 ninja ex650r as seen as my profile, picture it has over 40,000 miles on it, i am the original owner. The only problem that i have ran into is my basic tear down, with the charging system. I am in the process of replacing all the parts and will be back on the road to put another 40,000 as well as a "very late" valve adjustment, not a bad bike. It is a touring bike not a crotch rocket but a nice bike. my kbb since the high miles, is only worth 1500, but as a motorcycle rider as myself, i own all my bikes, and will never sell out!

lmao....a 40k mile valve adjustment. yes, that is abit over the recommended requirements per the manual. So you are saying with proper maintenance, this may be a 100k mile motor?

Thanks, I am still getting used to the site. Trying to see what everything is all about. For 3 years, it has been my main transportation, its been to FL. twice, I went to a motorcycle school, just to fix my bike and that was two years ago. I learned a lot, also forgot a lot I hope this is a 100,000 mile engine. If not, I can always rebuild. Thanks.
