Default Urgent. I need help starting my bike !

Hi, I was wondering if maybe you guys would be able to help me with starting up my 2007 Kawasaki klx 250.. I bought it a few months ago and rode it once. I had it sitting for awhile and it doesn't want to seem to start. At all.

I charged the battery, gave it more gas, and changed the oil and filter. But it still doesn't want to start, or even turn over I'm really new to this stuff and love to learn and ride. But I really don't know how to fix it .. or even what's wrong with it.

Any suggestions ? :/

Turn the petcock off, drain the old fuel out of the carb bowl. How bad does it smell? Close the drain valve and open the petcock.

With the car NOT running, use a car battery to jump the bike (do you know how to safely jump another vehicle?). Does the starter turn the bike's engine over now?

I have to state the obvious, make sure you don't have the engine stop switch Off.

Good point, Brien.

I think the kill switches on the '06/'07 bikes are a little different than the '09+ models. My '06 switch likes to stick in the off position so I use it as little as possible.

Default Seems silly but

I was new to this too, make sure foot stand is up, it's in neutral, you're not pulling on the clutch.
i had the same thing, new air filter, new spark plugs, cleaned the carbs and adjusted the cables hope that helps.
