Hi I swapped engines I have a 1989 ex500 chassis with all the old electronics and everything. I swapped a newer 1997 engine from a 500r in. The engine sounds like crap and wont run now, and it was taken from a running bike.

My concern is that the ignition pack is setup different I noticed there is a difference between the two generations. I had to swap the stator cover to get the connections to line up correctly. If it is different could this be my problem? If so does anyone have any clue on how to fix it?
