Gas Mileage?

RE: Gas Mileage?
i have an '06 mean streak. so the gearing may be different and other set ups on the engine. can pull 39-44 on the road but in the city with just ordianry running around, no pushing it, i get about 20-25. Ive been told by the dealer that tire pressure was too low. I got that mesage at the 600 mile service. I reminded them that they delivered the bike and supposedly checked the pressure. At 1500 miles i was told i didnt know how to do the math. they insisted that it got 40 miles to the gallon. I suggested that they drive it around for a few days instead of a one shot down the hiway.
so the dealer isn't so responsive. hiway should be ok though after you get thru breakin

RE: Gas Mileage?
Hello,
I'm new here.
I just bought a Vulcan Nomad 1600 2007.
I'm finding about 35 miles to the gallon at best.
I'm very dissappointed. I had a 1900cc Yamaha Roadliner S
and sold off to buy this Nomad. The Roadliner got 42.6 miles
to the gallon.
Glad I have a 5.3 gallon tank on this tank of a bike for sure.
I hope the gas mileage improves.
If not, I'll just enjoy the ride. Didn't buy it for fuel economy anyway.
What's your ride?

RE: Gas Mileage?
Rice burners are about 6% over actual speed. My odometer seems right on on my 2007 nomad. Wind effects milage so I ran out of gas one time. Normal riding I get 42 to 44. Wind as low as 36. You gotta get used to your fuel gauge. When the light comes on, find a station. Love my Nomad.

RE: Gas Mileage?
I ranthe first mileage check last week on my brand-new '07 Nomad. Most of the riding was done around town which meanssome amount of time spent sitting at stoplights. I find that the bike got 35.7 mpg under those conditions. There's also the fact that the bike has <500 miles on it as of today. Mileage may improve as the engine wears in.
Ride Safe,
John
